Beyond Vagabond is the ambitious and enchanted latest project by Zan Asha, which involves her uncoventional immersion and expertise in the worlds of art, animals, and agriculture.

The project is the culmination in a wide variety of training and interests for Ms. Asha:  training with horses and driving  in a wagon, cross country, using skills in horsemanship, old-fashioned know-how and self sustainability. Along the way, various "old-ways" living classes will be taught by Ms. Asha, as a matter of "earning her keep" along the road, and meeting people throughout her journey, this projects aims to be documented via film, making this a story of all-American appeal.

No stranger to remarkable goals and projects, Zan Asha earned her degree from Tisch School of the arts in Film and television, with a background in acting.

Simultaneously, she continued her life-long love of animals by taking various day jobs as animal whisperer, eventually working with all domestic and farm animals excluding horses.

Unafraid of adversity, she combined her love and training of ethnic dance into her theater background to direct the first gothic ethnic dance troupe (Chovexani), and create the first solid forum for women's stories in this format, "Night of 1000 Goddesses" (2005-2008).

She is also a published folk and doll artist, with art inspired on old European stories and fables, and old Medieval drawings and statuary.

Her third generation beekeeping has been featured in Mary Jane's Farm Magazines, the New York DailyNews, The Bronx Free Press and the rural and self-reliance publication GRIT. Bronx Bees, in which she is the chief operating beekeeper, has also been honored by Slow Money, an offshoot of Slow Food. Her beekeeping has taken her to the Midwest and along the East Coast for classes and speaking on issues of organic beekeeping and the plight of the bee, pollen, and our food system.

Her further commitment to the environment, and stewards of the land, led her to create a conglomerate of farmer-writer dedicated to informative and entertaining posts for new (and experienced) farmers, online. Therenegadefarmer.com is is committed group of online writers sharing frequent posts about farming DIY, AND includes articles about farm politics. Besides leading this motley crew, Ms. Asha also hosts an online radio show of the same name that hosts farming notables and authors from the U.S. and Canada.

Her dedication to finishing a project, and her commitment to doing it WELL, along with her concern about the environment, community, education, and art, make her the capable best choice for this unique endeavor. We hope you agree.
