Trust a male donkey to be sensible enough to endeavor a dust bath in the midst of the festivities. How friend and filmer Kira managed to get this shot dead-on (perhaps a happy coincidence?) is a mystery, but it's quite the sight:
In the meantime, a wee announcement: I am contemplating trying to post almost daily--which might sound completely off the rocker but honestly, so much just keeps coming that I actually find myself catching up, or entirely skipping bits of news, in order to sardine can the stories into a twice weekly posting schedule. I've had inklings about expanding the writing repertoire before, so if I can get an hour of writing in (Sleep? Who needs sleep?) this crazy thing might just work.
I will also be adding a weekly segment featuring my folk art, in order to transit it over from my other blog,
because my folk art is so much a part of my folk art life, so we shall see. My biggest worry is that people won't actually have the time or care to read these strange travel ramblings, so perhaps this whole thing may become the ubiquitous tree falling in the forest...hopefully this idea truly does make a "sound," somewhere...
So stay tuned, tomorrow we say GOODBYE to the Amazing Alabama Wagon Tales...and Hello..IOWA!

Hello lovely Zan,
Posting everyday is quite an undertaking...took me almost 2 months before I posted on my blog the other day...OY!! I'm going to refer your blog to my friend, Linda, in Albuquerque, NM...she and her grandchildren have this love affair with a particular group of rescue donkeys on a farm close to Albuquerque...they love all that is donkey!!
Laughed when I read you just might come down for a visit in your wagon...got an image of Zan crossing the great desert, catching glimpses of mountain lions, white tail deer, and other desert critters...just make sure you come in early winter...too hot to cross in the summer and too windy in the spring!! LOL Anyway, have a great week and looking forward to catching up on what's going on in your beautiful world.
xxoo,
Georigna
